What type of visa will I receive?

The Fiancé Visa is for an individual who is engaged to British or Irish citizens, individuals settled in the UK with pre-settled status or ILR. The UK Fiancé Visa does not directly grant settlement in the UK and is the first part of a two part process.

 

This is a two-part process. Initially, a 6-month visa will be granted, allowing the applicant to travel to the UK to undergo a marriage; the second part is to switch to the spouse resident permit from within the UK.

PART I

Estimated Processing times

Typically, the visa processing time is up to 12-24 weeks from the date of biometric submission, with the option of a fast-track service that may yield results in approximately 6 weeks (though not guaranteed). 

 

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• You are in a genuine relationship and intend to marry in the UK

• A marriage registration/ceremony is provisionally scheduled within 6-months of your planned arrival date

• Both parties are free to marry

• Have access to adequate accommodation in the UK.

• The sponsor must earn at least GBP 29,000 per annum or have cash savings of GBP 88,500 held in a bank account for a minimum of 6 months prior to the date of application.*

• Pass an English language test at level A1 or higher (applicants over 65 are exempt).

• Provide evidence of divorce certificates if previously married.

• Undergo TB screening.

As per the most recent update from the Home Office, the minimum income requirement for the UK spouse visa will incrementally increase to £29,000 on 11th April 2024. If you are using Cash Savings, the corresponding minimum savings requirement will rise to £88,500.

Bali or Surabaya Biometric submission: IDR 1,669,089 (Jakarta no charge)

PART II

Once you are married and before the initial 6-month fiancé visa expiry, the applicant will be eligible to switch to the spouse visa within the UK.
