Applying for a Canada Visit Visa from Indonesia

Are you planning a short visit to Canada with an Indonesian passport? In this guide, we'll provide you with a step-by-step overview of applying for a visit visa (temporary residence permit) for Canada from within Indonesia, ensuring you're well-prepared for your travel adventure.


What is a visit visa / temporary resident visa (TRV) for Canada?

A TRV allows you to stay in Canada for up to 6 months for tourism, visiting family or friends, or other short-term purposes.


Here are some steps to follow:


1) Gather Required Documents: Collect all necessary documents according to the visa type. This typically includes: 


  • A completed and signed application form

  • Photocopies of your ID (KTP and KK)

  • Two passport-sized photos

  • Passport biodata page copies

  • Financial proof (like pay slips or bank statements)

  • Travel itinerary

  • Accommodation details

  • Travel / Medical Insurance (Optional)

  • Sponsor letter if applicable

  • Any other supporting documents deemed necessary to support your application

Following the submission online the Canadian authorities will usually reach out and request that you attend a biometrics appointment for fingerprints and a photo. We can assist you with the appointment booking process and accompany you on the day of the appointment.


 4) Wait for Approval: After submission, await the visa approval process by Canadian authorities. Approval times vary based on visa type and document completeness, the process typically takes around 15 working days from the date of application submission and biometrics provision (fingerprints and photo). 5) Check Your Visa Status: You can keep track of your visa application status here. When using our services, we will handle all communications from the Visa Application Centre, notify you when a decision has been made and when your passport is ready for collection.
